What is ADAS?

ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) refer to a set of features and technologies that are designed to enhance vehicle safety and improve driving experience. There are several ADAS systems that are commonly found in modern vehicles, including:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): This system uses radar or camera technology to monitor the distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you. ACC adjusts your vehicle's speed accordingly, ensuring that you maintain a safe distance from the car ahead.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW): This system uses cameras to monitor the vehicle's position on the road. If the system detects that your vehicle is drifting out of its lane, it will alert you through an audible or visual warning.
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM): This system uses sensors to monitor the blind spot zones behind and to the sides of the vehicle. If the system detects a vehicle in your blind spot, it will alert you through a visual or audible warning.
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW): This system uses cameras or radar technology to detect potential collisions with vehicles ahead. If the system detects a potential collision, it will alert you through a visual or audible warning.
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): This system is designed to prevent accidents by automatically applying the brakes if it detects an impending collision with a vehicle or object in front of you.
  • Pedestrian Detection: Similar to AEB, this system uses sensors and cameras to detect pedestrians in your vehicle's path. If a pedestrian is detected, the system will alert you and may even apply the brakes to prevent a collision.
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA): This system uses sensors to detect vehicles approaching from the sides when you're backing up. If the system detects a vehicle, it will alert you through a visual or audible warning.

These are just a few of the most common ADAS systems found in modern vehicles. There are many other systems available, including parking sensors, surround-view cameras, and more. ADAS systems are designed to enhance vehicle safety and make driving easier and more enjoyable. Alignment and ADAS

ADAS Service

ADAS systems require regular maintenance and calibration to ensure they function properly. Here are some common services that ADAS may need:

  • Sensor Calibration: ADAS systems rely on sensors, such as cameras and radar, to detect the environment around the vehicle. Over time, these sensors may become misaligned, which can affect the accuracy of the system. Calibration services help ensure that the sensors are properly aligned and functioning correctly.
  • Software Updates: ADAS systems use software to control their functions. Manufacturers may release updates to the software that improve the system's functionality or fix bugs. Updating the software ensures that your ADAS system is up-to-date and functioning correctly.
  • Component Replacement: Some ADAS components, such as sensors, cameras, and wiring harnesses, may wear out over time and need to be replaced. Replacing worn-out components ensures that the ADAS system continues to function correctly.
  • Diagnostic Services: If your ADAS system is not functioning correctly, diagnostic services can help determine the root cause of the problem. Diagnostic services use specialized equipment to read error codes and diagnose issues with the ADAS system.
  • Regular Maintenance: ADAS systems are part of your vehicle's safety system and should be inspected as part of regular maintenance. Our technicians can perform a visual inspection of the system to ensure that everything is functioning correctly.

It's important to note that ADAS systems can be very complex and require specialized knowledge and equipment to maintain and repair. Sullivan Auto Clinic employs qualified technicians who have experience working with ADAS systems to ensure that your system is properly maintained and functioning correctly.

What Our Customers Are Saying

I always know I'll get the professional auto service that I can trust. First class organization from the owners, Matt and Karen, Brenna, their office manager, and the able staff of auto technicians they employ!

It was very easy. I was able to work with the staff to drop off and pickup after hours. Brenna rocks and the team did a great job fixing my auto.

Matt and Brena are wonderful! Service was done in a timely manner. Problems were explained and estimates given on a printout for future ideas to keep my vehicle safe on the road.

Matt is amazing. I had a gas leak and he not only squeezed my car in on a Friday but located the problem and fixed it by the end of the day when he learned I needed my car back for work on Sunday. This shop is fast, friendly, and all around amazing. Matt and the team are worth ever penny.
